Photography

My first efforts at photography were with a simple film SLR camera in the 1990s - my young adulthood.  It didn’t suit me.  Film created a difficult obstacle between me and the subject.  The  photography classroom emphasis on mastering the front-end technology (the camera) to have a better experience in the darkroom dampened my natural curiosity.  Today’s digital photography in its many forms gives me the space to be an investigator first, and photographer second.  I happily snap away at the most interesting subjects and situations, then set up at my computer to review, edit, and process how I feel about the images.

Though I occasionally exhibit my photos or make them available in ready-to-frame prints, they are best experienced in my zine, Genuine Curiosity.  I release volumes by theme irregularly two or three times a year.  By publishing the zine I can share the deeper view I make when I’m collecting and immersing myself in the images.
